Fast Quasi-Optimal Power Flow of Flexible DC Traction Power Systems

This paper proposes a quasi-optimal power flow (OPF) algorithm for flexible DC traction systems (TPSs). Near-optimal OPF solutions can be solved with high computational efficiency by quasi-OPF. Unlike conventional algorithms, quasi-OPF does not utilize mathematical optimization algorithms but adopts new methodology. First, we adopt modeling method and successfully reveal the physical meaning of in TPSs. Then, converting into expressions, simple mapping from solution to near-optimal is obtained, designed based on this mapping. Since calculating computationally cheap arithmetic, solve much less execution time, achieving subsecond level calculation speed-up 57 times compared primal-dual interior point method. The effectiveness verified proofs case study Beijing Metro Line 13. provides insight powerful tool TPSs analyze effects coordinated control, design real-time control strategies, operational problems planning.
